Thanksgiving is a time for families to come together to enjoy great food and great fun. The centerpiece of this celebration is usually a large meal which is generally centered around a roasted turkey. Dessert is also a large focal point of this holiday with most gatherings having an assortment of pies. Ice cream -- especially homemade ice cream -- is an extremely delicious accessory to any slice of pie.
Many family members work together to prepare the Thanksgiving meal. During this time, the younger children are usually sent out to play. Now you can let them be a part of the meal preparation and let them play. With the ice cream ball, the children can be entertained and create the perfect dessert.
The ice cream ball is great for the older children and adults, too. As everyone is gathered around sharing stories and catching up they can be tossing the ice cream ball back and forth or take turns shaking and passing the ball around the room. Everyone can get involved and when dessert time rolls around the ice cream will be even more special because everyone has had a hand in creating it.
