Kids Ice Cream Parties are more popular than ever these days. Birthday party ice cream is still the most popular way to have ice cream at a party; however, ice cream making parties or ice cream social parties for kids of all ages are growing in popularity.

A sure fire way to hold a memorable party is to let the kids create their own ice cream. There's no better way to create your own ice cream than with the ice cream maker ball. This interactive and unique ice cream maker requires no electricity and the ice cream flavors you can create in it are limited only by the kids' imaginations.

Any kids party with ice cream will benefit from making homemade ice cream at the party.  Making ice cream is a great way to entertain the kids and create the treat for the party at the same time.

Start out with the kids rolling the ball back and forth to each other.  Move on to ice cream bowling and finish up with a quick dance party.  Depending on your ingredients, making a quart of ice cream in the MEGA ice cream ball should take around 30 minutes.

As the kids are making the ice cream, you can set up the standard ice cream sundae toppings for them to decorate their ice cream with later.  When the ice cream is ready, set up each child with a bowl and spoon and scoop out about 1/2 cup of ice cream per child.  The MEGA ice cream ball creates a quart of ice cream -- enough to feed 8 kids!  If you feel you'll need more ice cream you can have more than one ice cream ball going at the same time.

Schools, home schools and daycare centers love the ice cream ball party theme because it brings all the kids together and teaches them science, math and social skills at the same time.
  • The ice cream ball uses a combination of ice and rock salt to freeze the ice cream in the canister.  As you're filling up the ball you can explain to the kids the concept of using salt to lower the freezing point of the ice.

    • Explain why salty bodies of water tend not to freeze in cold weather.  Differentiate between the salt used to melt the ice on the roads & driveways and the ice used in the ice cream ball.

  • The flavor combinations you can create in the ice cream ball are endless.  Teach the kids basic math and measuring skills as they come up with great new flavors to try.

    • Start with the basic vanilla recipe: 1 quart of half n half (or cream) + 3/4 cup sugar + 1 tbsp vanilla.  If you want some ready made recipes, check out our free e-book of ice cream ball recipes.

  • Making ice cream with the ice cream ball is an interactive process.  The kids will need to practice sharing and working together to create their tasty treat.  These are very valuable skills for children to learn and with this activity they will be rewarded two-fold.
Choose your kit based on the size of your party!  You can choose to have each guest take an ice cream ball home with them.  Or you can buy one for the party and one as a door prize.  Mix and match our ice cream party supplies to suit your kids party needs.  Any way you choose the kids will have a blast at your ice cream party.

If you don't see a kit that meets your needs, let us know and we'll come up with something for you!
