Let's Party! Add ice cream to any occasion and your guests will cheer!Everyone has cake & ice cream. Jazz it up a bit with these great ice cream ideas!

How to Throw an Ice Cream Party:
1. Invite your guests! You can make the invitations as simple or complex as you want. One great idea is to have the invitations in the shape of ice cream trucks or ice cream cones. It really gets your guests jazzed up for ice cream.
2. Location and supplies. Summer time is really the most popular time to have an ice cream party. However, ice cream is such a great party food that it can, and is, enjoyed year round. Whether your party is inside or outside, you should always have the following items on hand: extra napkins, plates, silverware, a section of mix-ins and toppings, water, and plenty of clean-up items (sponges, paper towels, etc) and of course, a place to put the garbage.
3. The toppings.
Vanilla ice cream is still the most popular flavor out there. You
should have several different kinds of toppings on hand for your guests
to choose from. Make sure your toppings are easily accessible from both sides and that they each have separate spoons to dish them out. Here are some examples:
- sprinkles
- chocolate chips
- crumbled brownies
- crushed cookies
- chopped nuts
- mini marshmallows
- M&Ms, Reese's pieces, etc
- crushed graham crackers
- peanut butter cups
- chocolate syrup
- strawberry syrup
- caramel/butterscotch sauce
- sliced fresh fruit
- dried fruits
- shredded coconut
- whipped cream
- cherries
- popcorn (I know, it sounds weird, but lots of people enjoy it!)

4. Ways to eat the ice cream. Having a variety of ways to eat the ice cream will ensure that all your guests are happy. You can have waffle cones, sugar cones, edible bowls, sundae dishes and long spoons. Set these all out on a tray so your guests can choose what they want.
5. The ice cream. Homemade ice cream is so much fun to make. Let your guests join in making their own ice cream. The Play & Freeze Ice Cream Maker Ball is a great way to do this. If you have the "mega" sized ball, it holds a whole quart of ice cream. Making ice cream in the Play & Freeze takes approximately 30 minutes. The guests can have fun gathering the ingredients and then playing with the ball. This is especially fun for younger children because they get to learn what goes into ice cream and then they get to see it being made. If your party has several guests, consider getting more than one ball or make some ice cream ahead of time.
HAVE FUN!
